Maxwell "Max" H. Carter, 53, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on October 28, 1962 to the late Robbie Neal and Beverly Yeomans Carter and has been a lifelong resident of this area as well as being of the Church of God Faith. He loved to fish and to spend time with his family including his nieces and nephew. Max also made a number of friends who were like his extended family, through his passion for golf at Francis Lake Golf Club where he was a member.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Judy Carter of Omega, and Marty and Kathy Carter of Lake Park; a nephew, Steven Carter of Valdosta; three nieces and their spouses, April and Justin Fountain, Carol and J.D. Isgro, and Morgan Carter all of Lake Park; and two great nephews, Wyatt and Cameron Fountain of Lake Park. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
A funeral service for Maxwell Carter will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Francis Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Fountain and Reverend Daryl Pate officiating. The burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
