Mattie Ruth Johnson Rivers

MATTIE RUTH JOHNSON RIVERS, 84, of Quitman died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Brooks County Hospital in Quitman. She was born on October 11, 1922 in Cook County to the late Austin and Vallye Folsom Johnson and had been a resident of the Presbyterian Home in Quitman for several years. Mrs. Rivers was a Methodist and a retired hotel receptionist.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Courtney Easters of Quitman, one brother and two sisters in law, Ellis and Lois Johnson of LaQuinta, Calif. and Katherine Johnson of Orlando, Fla., her former son in law and his wife, Joey and Brenda Easters of Quitman, two stepgranddaughters, Mary Herzog and Rachel Herzog. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Rivers and a daughter, Patricia Ann Easters.
