MARZEE WISEMAN SPECK, 95, of Valdosta, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born October 23, 1912 in Pontotoc, MS a daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Etta Marzee Powell Wiseman.
Early, she was a member of the Sherman Baptist Church in MS and continued in the Baptist faith for the remainder of her life. She was a creative homemaker, and proprietor of rental properties in Memphis. She was a former fashion model and enjoyed Arthur Murray dancing.
Her family is grateful for the years of excellent care rendered by the staff of Fellowship Home and Lakehaven Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Peters of Valdosta; her son, Tom Speck of Black Mountain, NC; two granddaughters, Rachel Speck of Black Mountain, NC, and Sarah Isaacs of Memphis, TN; thirteen nieces and nephews in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Mississippi and Missouri. She was predeceased by her seven brothers, Wilbur, Auber, Carl, Marvin, Joshua "Jeff", Kenny, Claudey, and Lacy Wiseman, two sisters, Charlotte Hughes and Mary Florence Beasley, and by her son-in-law, Melvin Peters.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Sherman, MS. Interment will be in Sherman Cemetery.
