MaryAnne Lastinger, 78, of Hahira, died at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday March 13, 2025. Born December 9, 1946, and raised in Hahira, MaryAnne was the daughter of the late Ivey Webster Johnson and Estelle Kelly Johnson. She was a faithful lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Hahira. MaryAnne loved her home and family without measure. She enjoyed cooking, especially her prized dishes of spaghetti and rotelle chicken. A classy, prestigious lady, she never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She was a great “hugger.” For over fifty years MaryAnne owned “The Beauty Hut,” working in cosmetology. Throughout her life no matter what she was undertaking, she never gave less than her 100% best effort.
Survivors are her son, Stephen Lastinger and his partner, Diane Tillman of Valdosta, daughter, Cindi Lastinger Fender of Hahira; grandchildren, Maci Hall (Quade) of Lake Park, Chason Carpenter (Emilie) of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Harper Anne Hall, Weston Dewayne Hall, Braxton Quade Hall, Whitley Lynn Carpenter; brothers, Paul Johnson (Linda) of Hahira, Jimmy Johnson of Hahira. Mrs. Lastinger was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, Ronnie Lastinger, sisters, Alma Scherlan, Doris Molle, and Louise Vinson.
Funeral services for Mrs. MaryAnne Lastinger will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hahira First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Reverend David Gordon, Mr. Jared Johnson and Mr. Nathan Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
