Mary Yvonne Wiggins Hesters

Mary Yvonne Wiggins Hesters, 82, of Valdosta, peacefully passed away at her residence on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the presence of her loving family. Born in Quitman, GA, on January 15, 1942, to the late Andrew Jackson Wiggins and Martha Elizabeth Dennard Wiggins, she devoted her life to her role as a homemaker and was a dedicated member of New Covenant Church. Mrs. Hesters served diligently in the church kitchen, overseeing various events such as New Members Dinners and Deacons Dinners, alongside managing all social activities. Beyond her church duties, she actively participated in the garden club winning several blue ribbon awards from the Crescent for flower arrangement contests, engaged in missionary work in Russia and Riga, Latvia, where she led student ministries, and faithfully hosted a homegroup that centered around sharing the Lord's teachings. Known for her culinary skills, Mrs. Hesters was also a gracious hostess at the Crescent.

Mrs. Hesters is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ronnie Hesters, residing in Valdosta; her daughters, Julie Beale and Janna Elizabeth Hesters, both also of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lindsey Hayes of Perry, GA, Johnathan Carman of Katy, TX, Joseph Bottiglieri of Valdosta, Aaron Beale of Valdosta, Abigail Twehous of, Columbia, MO, and Adam Hesters of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Annie Grace and Cooper Hayes of Perry, GA; as well as her brother, Andrew Jackson Wiggins, Jr., of Columbia, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jenny Lynn Hesters.
