Mary Yurosko Eddings, 94, of Valdosta, died on Monday, July 29, 2019 at her residence after a period of declining health. She was born on March 19, 1925 in Penowa, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Mary Szmerek Yurosko. She worked in many different fields before her marriage to her husband, James, from working as a painter’s assistant painting ships during WWII, working with TWA, and locally with Levis. Mary loved working in her garden and taking care of her flowers, hummingbirds and dancing. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Tere) Eddings of Atlanta, and her son, Kenneth (Ken) Eddings of Sunnyvale, California; her sister and brother-in-law, Ann Louise and Ray Kelly of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eddings, and her siblings, Mike Yurosko, John Yurosko, Margaret Dukoit, Elizabeth Kosar, Irene Niccolai, and Catherine Yurosko.
Services for Mary Yurosko Eddings will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Brian LaBurt officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
