MARY SUE “TILLIE” VAUGHAN, 70, of Valdosta died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at her home. She was born on June 18, 1936 in Valdosta to the late Joel Ozell “Ike” and Dorothy Wilson Hall and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved the Lord. She had served as a volunteer at South Georgia Medical Center and as an Avon Representative.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Vaughan, Sr. of Valdosta, one son, Jim Vaughan, Jr. of Valdosta, two daughters and sons in law, Betsy and Dana Giddens of Lakeland, Jennifer and Chris Stevick of Valdosta, two granddaughters whom she cherished, Amelia Grace Stevick of Valdosta and Emilee Jane Giddens of Lakeland, her stepgrandchildren, Brandon Stevick, Chris Stevick both of Valdosta, Josh and his wife, Kim Giddens and Shannon Graddy all of Lakeland, 5-great grandchildren, her brother and sister in law, Joe and Judy Hall of Valdosta, nephew and his wife, Richard and Arabi Hall of Valdosta, her niece, Reagan Hall of Tennessee, two stepbrothers in law, Ed Marshburn and William T. Marshburn both of Ashland, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, September 3, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Stanley and Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O.
