MARY S. TAYLOR, 86, of Valdosta died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 26, 1921 in Roan County, West Virginia to the late Espel and Flossie Edith Kiser Starcher and had lived in Valdosta for many years. She was retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and a member of the Hahira First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Opie A. Taylor of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Joyce and Charles Trumbo of Valdosta and a brother, Roy Starcher of Charleston, WVA. She was preceded in death by a son, David Taylor and a brother, Ralph Starcher.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Knight and Mr. Warren Larson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
