Mary Nell Bussey Touchton

Mary Nell Bussey Touchton, 88, of Valdosta died Friday, July 3, 2009 at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born in Clyattville on November 21, 1920 to the late Joseph Rush and Hattie Gertrude Anderson Bussey and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mrs. Touchton was a member of Airport Church of Christ and retired as Cafeteria Manager of Lowndes Middle School after thirty years of service. She served as a Pink Lady at South Georgia Medical Center for fifteen years.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters in law, William Q. (Bill) Touchton, Jr. of Valdosta, Joe and Gina Touchton of Auburn, Ala., Gary and Linda Touchton of Cordele, Ga., Roger and Liz Touchton of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Kathy and Freddy Adams of Albany, Ga., nine grandchildren, Kevin (Leah) Touchton, Brian (Stacey) Touchton all of Valdosta, Maggie Touchton of Auburn, Ala., Phillip Touchton, Jennifer Touchton Norris both of Valdosta, Pamela Touchton, April Adams Monie and husband, Bill all of Atlanta, Stefanie Adams Cowart and husband, Charlie of Arlington, Ga. and Bryer Touchton of Valdosta, thirteen great grandchildren, Brice Touchton, Breanne Touchton, Caden Touchton, Caleb Exum, Trace Touchton, Kinley Touchton, Zachary Touchton, Madeline Touchton, Abigail Touchton, Dalton Norris, Austin Monie, Jackson Monie, Ashlyn Monie and Weston Cowart. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Quarterman Touchton, four brothers, Doc Bussey, Jody Bussey, Pete Bussey and Wendell Bussey and one sister, Lillie Mae Black.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Monday, July 6, 2009 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. Burial will follow in Copeland Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.mclanefuneralservivces.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
