Mary Milligan Corbett

Mary Milligan Corbett, 96, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 30, 1918 in Valdosta to the late W.Y. (Bill) and Carlie Peterson Milligan, she was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Corbett was a faithful member of her community and had been active with the Lake Park Historical Society. She was also a faithful member of her church, and the oldest living member of Lake Park Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Genice Corbett Deas and Wilmer Deas of Lake Park; nieces; nephews; cousins; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchild; special cousins, Dodie R. Powers, who was like a daughter, of Lake Park, Roy and Dorie Peterson of Live Oak, FL, Gerald and Katie Weeks of Valdosta; and very special and dear friends, Ward and Louise Richards of Lake Park, Ray and Becky Marcantal of Valdosta, Martha Wisenbaker of Clyattville, and Jane Hudson of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Corbett; her sister, Pat Milligan Parrish; a nephew, Tommy Dean Hall; and a special cousin, Lou Nelle Heaney.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Corbett will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Lake Park Christian Church, with Pastor Glenn Everett and Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602, or to Lake Park Christian Church, P.O.
