MARY MAXINE COLEMAN SANDERS, 77, of Valdosta died Friday, March 31, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Gainesville, Florida to the late R. L. and Ruby Hutchinson Coleman and had lived in Valdosta since 1962. Mrs. Sanders was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church. She had served as past president of the Azalea Garden Club and was well known for baking wedding cakes.
Survivors include her husband, Otis E. Sanders of Valdosta, one daughter, Nancy Leigh Majors of Grayson, one son and daughter in law, Donnie and Caron Sanders of Statenville, four grandchildren, Ashley and Corey Majors, Justin and Dannie Pennington, one great grandchild, Landon Lee Pennington, two sisters and one brother in law, Gloria Ratliff of Gainesville, Fla., Nancy and Gene Gibbs of LaCrosse, Fla., one brother and sister in law, Jack C. and Phyllis Coleman of LaCrosse, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Robinson and a brother, Robert L. Coleman.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Monday, April 3, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Final services and burial will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Gainesville, Florida. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
