Mary Love Field

Mary Love Field, 91, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on November 16, 1919 in Bemiss, Georgia to the late Joel R. Peters, Sr. and Marie Knight Peters. Mrs. Field enjoyed golf, travel, and visiting with relatives. She was a member of Bemiss United Methodist Church. Mrs. Field was preceded in death by her husbands, Horace Edwin Pike, Sr., and Elwyn W. (AL) Field, a step son, Vernon Field, three sisters, Rose Marie Bowman, Sara Jane Peters, Martha P. Johnson, and a brother, Joel R. Peters, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Horace Edwin Pike, son and daughter in law, Joel David Pike, Sr. and Sue Ann Pike of Lake Park, grandson and granddaughter in law, Joel David Pike, Jr. and Sena K. Pike of Lakeland, granddaughter and grandson in law, Amanda P. (Mandy) Avera and Curtis L. Avera of Valdosta, great granddaughter, Eva Marie Pike, great grandsons, James David (JD) Pike, Cayden Pike Avera and Micah David Avera, sister, Patricia Guest and brother and sister in law, John Knight Peters and Sara Margaret Peters and also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta. Reverend Roger Mays will officiate.
