Mary Lois Futch Corbett

April 8, 1932 — August 10, 2017

Mary Lois Futch Corbett, 85, of Lake Park died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home. She was born in Hahira on April 8, 1932 to the late Eli J., Sr. and Thelma Stanley Futch and had lived in Lake Park for many years and was retired from the U. S. Census Bureau. Mrs. Corbett was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was instrumental in organizing the Helping Hands which raised funds for the construction of the social hall. She was very interested in genealogy and was one of the founding members of the Echols County Historical Society where she held the Office of Treasurer until her health declined. She loved her husband, sons and daughters in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them and time at the beach. She enjoyed crocheting and had crocheted blankets for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years. Louis E. Corbett; four sons and daughters in law, Stanley and Angie Corbett, Mark and Brenda Corbett, John and Rebecca Corbett, Ken and Kim Corbett; twelve grandchildren, Kelley Griffin, Shelby Corbett, Ashli (Erik) Copeland, Jenna (Derek) Newham, Audrey (Jeffrey) Hughes, Justin (Brandi) Corbett, Jessica (Eric) Bolesta, Bo (Dolly) Corbett, Mac (Brianna) Corbett, Jared Corbett, Cody Corbett, Clay Corbett; 13-great grandchildren; one sister and brother in law, Faye and Jim Smith of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mandi Corbett; three brothers, Henry Futch, Eli J. Futch, Jr., Charlie Futch and two sisters, Virginia Yanconish and Claudia Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Garvie Nichols, Rev. Mickey Corbett and Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
