Mary Kathryn Randall King, 80, of Statenville, Georgia died at 6:30 a.m. on June 21, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta. She was born on March 28, 1927, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Elmer Ernest and Adella May Laughhead Randall. She married Max E. King on July 18, 1946, in Ottumwa, Iowa. They were married for 36 years before his death on June 6, 1982. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Mary worked for Standard Kollsman and United Federal Savings and Loan. Upon moving to Georgia in 1984 she worked at Park Avenue United Methodist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church as a nursery worker, where she thoroughly enjoyed loving and caring for the children. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Auxillary.
Mary is survived by a son, David Lee (Sherry) King and a daughter, Debbie (James) Lovins; nine grandchildren, Alyssa, Kevin, Lauren, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Jacob, Michaela, Alana and Kaleigh whom she loved and adored; one brother, Kenneth G. (Roxanna) Randall of Whittier, California, and a sister, Madeline Collins of Eldon, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. Mary is also preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Simmers, three brothers, John, Donald, and Raymond Randall.
