Mary Jo Hendrix, 49, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on July 15, 1961 to the late William R. Browning and Christelle Stalvey Browning and has been a resident of Lowndes County her entire life. She was employed as an office administrator with Closson, Bass & Tomberlin law firm.
Survivors include her companion, Dennis Rushing of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Tara Hendrix of Lake Park; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and David Hall of Clyattville; three granddaughters, Summer Hughes, Shelby Hendrix and Hannah Hendrix and a grandson, Hunter Hall; her mother, Christelle Browning; her faithful Yorkshire terrier, BG.
The family of Mary Jo Hendrix will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, May 31, 2011 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. No formal services will be held for Ms. Hendrix. The family request that donations to the American Cancer Society be given in lieu of receiving floral tributes. The Carson McLane Funeral Home and McLane Crematory are serving the Hendrix family.
