Mary J. Dunn

Mary J. Dunn, 67 of Valdosta, GA died on Saturday, May 06, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born on February 22, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN she was the daughter of the late Philip Joseph and Leona Catherine Clements Seyfried and the widow of Peter Jan Dunn. She was also preceded in death by two infant daughters. Mrs. Dunn had been employed with South Georgia Pecan and Two Friends Cafe. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Ladies Auxiliary, PCCW, A Red Hatter, Hospice volunteer, a volunteer for the Pearlman Cancer Center and Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts.

She is survived by sons, Joseph Scott Dunn and Michael Anthony Dunn both of Valdosta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Candace and Edwin Rhodes of Quitman, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy Rhodes, Jessica Rhodes, William Rhodes, Nicholas Rhodes and Reese Rhodes all of Quitman, GA, April Dunn of Valdosta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil Jr. and Jackie Seyfried of Amelia, VA, Steve and Elise Seyfried of Oreland, PA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Ann and Rod Williamson of Houston, TX, Jean Marie and Gene Newland of Harrison, AR; great aunt, Sister Rose Seyfried of Festus, MO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


A funeral mass will be held at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father John O’Brien officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. A rosary with be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the church with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O.
