Mary “Helen” Baker Redding, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born on November 22, 1937 in Nashville, GA. She was the daughter of the late Eloise Kirby and Arthur Amos Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Franklin Baker, Joe Baker, Huey Baker, and her husband, Harold Redding.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Carter of Nashville; her six children & their spouses, Steve and Renita Redding, David and Sharon Redding, Jerry and Marti Redding, Terry and Patti Redding, Leslie Redding, and Art and Kim Redding; as well as 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Her family is thankful for every day spent with Helen, or Nanny as she was lovingly referred to, and will miss her faithful heart, beautiful smile, tenacious spirit, willingness to help any and all of her siblings, children, and grandchildren. To them, she passed on her adoration for nature, music, a good shopping trip to find a “good deal” or a shiny bauble, but most of all, the appreciation for time spent together over home cooked meals sharing a blessing and memories filled with laughter.
Funeral services honoring the life of Helen will be at Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Wise officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the funeral at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
