Mary Grace Martin, 88, of Hahira died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 23, 1922 in Statesboro to the late Lonnie A. and Mary Jane Anderson. Mrs. Martin moved to Hahira in 1950 when she and her late husband, C. Waldo Martin established Martin Funeral Home and in 1986 the funeral home merged with Carson McLane Funeral Home becoming Martin/McLane Funeral Home. She remained active in the funeral home operations until her health declined. She was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Cary and Anita Martin of Perry, GA., a daughter and son in law, AubRay and Phil Mika of Valdosta, three granddaughters, Alison and her husband, John Kessler of Alabaster, Ala., Alex Stanaland and Ansley Stanaland both of Valdosta, one great grandson, John Lewis Kessler of Alabaster, Ala., her nephew, L. R. Anderson, Jr. of Metter and one niece, Kay Deal of Statesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Waldo Martin.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John McGowan officiating.
