Mary G. Dooley

Mary G. Dooley, 79, of Valdosta went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at her home. She was born in Willacoochee, GA on October 14, 1936 to the late Lucious R. (L.R.) and Leila White Guthrie and lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Dooley was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and retired from GMAC after thirty five years of service. She worked for Lowndes County for twelve years as a contracted Right of Way Clerk. Mrs. Dooley graduated from Valdosta High School in 1954 and a member of the Valdosta High Marching Cats and was the Head Majorette her senior year. She was very active in planning her class reunions. Mrs. Dooley enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and her church family especially her Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Paul and Sherry Dooley of Valdosta, Sharon and Brian Nommay of Charleston, SC, Diane Collins of Valdosta, Lee Ann and Boyd Moore of North Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Brent Dooley, Kristen Foskey, Luke Collins, Karen Gibbs, Amanda Hernandez, Bethany Moore, Abby Nommay, Alaina Moore; four great grandchildren, Emalee Gibbs, MaKenlee Gibbs, Maicol Jose and Jayda Roberts; her sister, Jo Carol Roush of Valdosta; two nieces, Denise Megow and Suzanne Jordan and a nephew, Eric Roush; sister in law, Wava Schumacher of New Albany, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis and Dr. Robby Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
