Mary Francis Hickman

Mary Francis Hickman, 68, of Lake Park, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, following a lengthy illness. Born in Lowndes County, Georgia on February 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late M.G. and Evelyn H. Kinsey Porter. She had worked as a supervisor for Southern Bell and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors are her son, Mike Hickman and his fiance’ Irma Fowler, daughter Beth Fowler and family of Lake Park; brothers and sisters, Lawrence A. Porter of Lake Park, Wanda Gail Swilley of Valdosta, Carolyn Nutt of Tennessee, Linda Ealy of Arkansas, Sue Plair of Hahira, Benny Porter of Lake Park, Libby Rogers of Lake Park, Debra Porter of Atlanta; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hickman was preceded in death by her husband, Michael T. Hickman, and a sister, Anna Marie Porter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Reverend Bob Willis will officiate.
