Mary Elizabeth Webb, 84, of Valdosta died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 28, 1926 in Bainbridge, the daughter of the late Claude Henry and Mary Eula Ingram Murray. She had lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Webb served faithfully with her husband, the late William Milton Webb, retired Baptist Minister who pastured at Pleasant Way Baptist Church and Pauline Baptist Church, as well as serving as interim minister at Lakeland First Baptist Church. A member of Westside Baptist Church of Valdosta, Mrs. Webb retired as a paraprofessional from Parker Mathis Elementary School in June of 1992.
Survivors include five sons and four daughters in law, Murray Webb of Valdosta, David and Jan Webb of Clearwater, Florida, Bill and Linda Webb of Jacksonville, Florida, Paul and Cheryl Webb of Valdosta and Franklin and Becky Webb of Lake Park, 11-grandchildren, 10-great grandchildren, 5-great great grandchildren, three sisters in law and one brother in law, Merle Downing, Martha McCabe both of Valdosta and Mary and Wassie Griffin of Gainesville, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, William Milton Webb, and two brothers, Hugh Murray and Ingram Murray.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
