Mary Mathis, 89, of Hahira and longtime resident of Fellowship of Brookside was born in Hahira to the late Frank and Alice McDonald on March 16, 1932. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Mathis was a 1949 graduate of Hahira High School and a devoted wife, mother, friend and granny.

She is survived by her daughters, Hope Mathis Roe (Louie) and Dawn Mathis Panter of Hahira; grandchildren, Charity Roe King (Steven) of Cecil, Chad Roe (Melissa) of Valdosta and Brad Roe (Nancy) of Hahira. Erin Panter Freshwater (Ed) of Austin, MN and Ryan Panter of Valdosta. Also surviving are great grandchildren Austin Carpenter of Orlando FL, Ethan Carpenter of Eielson AFB Alaska, Chance Roe of Valdosta, Destiny Roe McMillan (Hunter) of Valdosta, Daycee Panter of Valdosta, Reed King of Cecil, Talley Roe & Miller Roe both of Hahira; and one great great granddaughter, Remi McMillan of Valdosta. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Talley (T.C) Mathis, a son Craig Mathis & great granddaughter, Ruby Elizabeth King.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Friendship Cemetery for family and friends. Mr. John LaHood will officiate. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be conveyed to the family on the obituary page of www.mclanecares.com Martin/McLane Funeral Home
