Mary Elizabeth Evans

Mary Elizabeth Evans, 89, of Valdosta, GA peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, FL surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 27, 1933, in Chattanooga, TN to the late John and Mary Ruth Collins. She was happily married to the late Albert Thomas Evans, Sr “Tom” for 65 years. She was a homemaker who cared deeply for her family, her face would light up when she saw her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed collecting Campbell Soup Kids and Dalmatians, watching Hallmark movies and westerns, and listening to her records.

Survivors are her children Shellie & Harold McLeod, Lake Park, GA, and Albert T. Evans, Jr., Lake City, FL; her brother, Johnny & Cynthia Collins; Brother-in-Laws, Kent Evans and Larry & Teresa Evans; Sisters-in-Laws, Judy Clifford, Patricia Stedar, & Sandra Evans; Grandchildren, Renee (Danny), Tiffiny (Don), Chad (Kilia), Brandi (Reid), Crystal, LeighAnn (Nick), and Misty (Josh); 13 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Billy Wayne Evans), daughter (Debora Kay Chaney), grandchild (Nikki Chaney), her brother (Buddy Collins), and sisters (Barb and Punk).

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buck Crumley officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
