Mary Dorris Moore

Mary Dorris Moore, 94, of Valdosta died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta on June 14, 1913 to the late James Quillian and Lily Viola Thigpen Dorris. Mrs. Moore was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and participated in the Friendship Sunday School Class and was a member of the Merry Makers.<br><br>Her survivors include her three nieces, Edna Johnson and Art Gaines of Iuka, MS, Valerie Dorris and Raymond Johnson of Port St. Lucie, FL, Emily Dorris Harned of Fort Pierce, FL; one nephew, James Dirk and Judy Dorris of Thomasville; numerous great nieces and nephews; numerous great great nieces and nephews and an adopted daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ben Belue of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Moore, Jr.<br><br>A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Thomas Mason, Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time for the service. Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church.
