Mary Cathryn Dasher Wisenbaker

Mary Cathryn Dasher Wisenbaker, 93, of Valdosta passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Born in Perine, Florida to the late Edwin and Delia Dasher, she was a lifetime member of the Dasher Church of Christ where she served as secretary for 15 years. She was a long time supporter of the Georgia Christian School and served in many capacities through the years.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Wally Colson of Dasher, Mary and Al Armstrong of Valdosta, Martha and Emmett Bridges of Valdosta; ten grandchildren, Wendy and Gina Colson of Dasher, McCleta Mitchell of Valdosta, Connie and Philip Guthrie of Valdosta, Missy Armstrong of Valdosta, Dale and Vivian Armstrong of Dasher, Gary Armstrong of Lake Park, Winston and Jill Bridges of Morven, Jerry and Beth Bridges of Eatonton, Todd and Kelly Bridges of Nashville, Tennessee, Jenny Lynn Bridges of Valdosta; 19 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is her special adopted family, Jimmy and Clare Hightower, Beverly Hightower and Carolyn Hightower of Lake Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Wisenbaker; two grandchildren, Kirk and Dawn Armstrong; four brothers, Joe, Eldon, Dennis and Abbie Dasher; three sisters, Zeppa Newbold, Lilla Carson and Juanita Strickland.

Funeral services will be held at the Dasher Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, with Mr. David Nelson and Mr. Dale Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6–9 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Christian School.
