Mary B. Hanks Tomlinson

Mary B. Hanks Tomlinson, 87, of Valdosta, died at home Monday, May 12, 2008. Born on September 1, 1920 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Bertha Craig Hanks. She was employed as an Assistant Merchandise Manager for JC Penney's and a manager for Patterson & Griffin. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia and Bobby Davis and Jane Dreitzler, all of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Jane Tomlinson of Moultrie; grandchildren, Danny and Chrisan Davis, David and Daviea Davis, Chris Dreitzler, Jonathan and Sarah Dreitzler, Teri Tomlinson and Angie Tomlinson, Jimmy and Jill Tomlinson, Phil and Cheryl Tomlinson; great grandchildren, Alie, Mia, Cale Davis, Bonni Davis, Ashley, Ivy, Conner, Tyler, Austin, Tovio, Emily and Ryan Tomlinson, Julian Dreitzler; sister, Edith Connell of Adel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Rosie Hanks, Jack and Jean Hanks, all of Adel. Mrs. Tomlinson was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Tomlinson, two grandsons, Bucky Davis and Paul Tomlinson, one great grandson, Matthew Tomlinson; a sister, Laverne Hanks Grinder; two brothers, Everett and James Hanks.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
