Mary Ann Westmoreland, 74, of Adel, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy period of declining health. Mary Ann was born on May 7, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Raymond and Minnie Rae Allen Kessler, but lived most of her life in Georgia including the Acworth area and locally in Dupont, Homerville, and Adel areas. She was a retired general manager with Krystal and had worked for that company for over 30 years. She was a lady who loved her family big and enjoyed reading and quoting scripture from the Word of God. Her children remember her wonderful breakfast meals, being taken to church and Sunday school, and her love for her family and friends. Mary Ann was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Acworth.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leroy Westmoreland of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Duane Cunningham of Valdosta, Connie Renee and Sam Simmons of Dallas, Georgia, and Leigh Ann and Jamie Fowler of Hiram, Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Bubbie) and Kendra Kessler of Canton, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Maryanna Rose Deen, and her sister, Mildred.
Services for Mary Ann Westmoreland will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Gupton officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
