Mary Ann Sutton Holcomb

Mary Ann Sutton Holcomb, 72, Lake Park, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born on April 3, 1934 in Lowndes County, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Bessie Eloyce Blackmon Sutton. She was a caregiver for many sick elderly people in their homes for many years and was a devoted and loving mother and friend. She was also of the Christian faith.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Earl, Jr. and Anita Fountain of Carrollton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Sims of Dasher, Susan and Benny Green of Lake Park, Tammie and Randall Storey of Webster, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Lowell Napier of Valdosta; grandchildren, Gina Fountain, Robin Harris, Mike A. Sims, Jr., Justin W. Sims, Angela Green, Sidney Green, David Hansard, James Robert Hendrix, Lynn Dinkins, Specialist Dewayne Taylor, Jennifer Hansard, Leah Hansard, Jeremy Thompson, Amy Owens; ten great grandchildren and faithful and special friends, Cindy Lewis, Margie Temples and the residents of Hillmont Apartments. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Holcomb, a son, Leonard James (Jimmy) Johnson, a daughter, Patricia Ann Beck, a son-in-law, Mike A. Sims, Sr. and a sister, Betsy Eloise Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Skip Van Nus and Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
