Mary Ann Lasseter, 82, of Valdosta, died Monday, November 16, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born July 11, 1927 in Madison, FL, the youngest daughter of James Thomas and Lillian Mae Tanner Killingsworth. Mrs. Lasseter was a homemaker and a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church for fifty three years, in the Joymakers Senior Adult Group and was a Valdosta Wildcat fan.
She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Jim and Penny Lasseter of Nashville and Robert David and Melanie Lasseter of Valdosta, six grandchildren, Jennifer Brantley (Jess) of Ocilla, Rob Lasseter (Jessie) of Nashville, Mary Beth Lasseter (Ned Mitchell) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Sarah Lasseter (Brian Dean) of Savannah, Daniel Lasseter of Valdosta and Patrick Lasseter of Batesville, Mississippi, two great grandchildren, Anna Leigh and Austin Brantley, three siblings, B. F. Killingsworth of Madison, Jimmie Thelma Grant of Valdosta and C. W. Killingsworth of San Diego, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lasseter is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Carter Lasseter, to whom she was married for fifty six years and three siblings, J. T. Killingsworth, Katie Mae Hughey and Mattie Halstead.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at eleven a. m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a. m. until 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at the Carson Mclane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Northside Baptist Church building fund. Condolences may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
