Mary Alice "Mama Mary" Parramore Beckham, 78, of Valdosta, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Lakeland Villa, Lakeland.
She was born December 15, 1933 in Lowndes County, a daughter of the late Lewis C. and Ruby Beville Parramore. Ms. Beckham was a member of Benevolence Baptist Church. She had been employed at SAFT where she retired after twenty-six years of dedicated work. For the past five years she had been working as a Tram operator at Wild Adventures, until poor health forced her to retire. She loved her family, friends and animals; always put others needs before her own and always had an open door at her home.
She is survived by three sons, Jesse Hugh Lineberger and his companion Susan Albritton, Steve Bennett and wife April, and Robert Lewis Bennett and wife Missy; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Stevie, Brooks, Sutherlin, and Briggs Bennett, and Jamie and Dawn Lineberger; and one sister, Helen Parramore Miller, all of Valdosta. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, James and Harry Parramore, and Lester Hines.
The Funeral Service for Ms. Beckham will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
