Marvel Collins Crown

Marvel Collins Crown, 86, of Valdosta died Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was born on July 17, 1929 in Barberville, FL to the late Reverend B. C. Collins and Maggie Collins. Mrs. Crown was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was church secretary.
Mrs. Crown is survived by her two sons, Mike Crown and his fiancé, Teresa Brown, Tim Crown and his wife, Leah Crown all of Valdosta, seven grandchildren, Stephen Crown (Amy), Holly Michael (Philip), Landon Crown (Megan), Auldon Crown, Jade Smith (Ricky), Jared Evans (Courtney) and Julie Evans, three great grandchildren, Hayden Crown, Madelyn Michael and Ava Crown, her sister, Marie Gentry of Middleburg, FL, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter L. (Bud) Crown, Jr., three brothers, Riley Collins, Venice Collins and Willis (Bill) Collins, two sisters, Lorene Shockley and Alice Averett.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at eleven a. m. at First Baptist Church with Reverend Mac Weaver and Dr. Chuck Owens officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
