Martha Alexander, 53 of Lake Park, died on Saturday, March 04, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on May 31, 1952 in Valdosta, she was the daughter of Edna Wiggins Green and the late Joseph Lewis Green. She worked in retail and was a member of Antioch Church.
Other survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Doug Shields of Pace, FL, Amber and Brad Vinson of Lake Park; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert , Jr. “Bug” and Sabrina Alexander, Joey and Selena Alexander all of Lake Park; seven grandchildren dear to her heart, Kelby, Taylor, Reese, James, Justin, Bayley and Austin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Pam Green of Valdosta, Glen and Kathy Green of Moultrie, Tommy Green of Lake Park, Jody Green of Valdosta; sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanine and Pete Stafford of Westville, FL, Sarah and Maurice Pacetti of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Louis Herring, Freddie Nell Carter; brother, James Green and maternal grandparents, Carl and Lillie Mae Wiggins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Antioch Church with Reverend Mickey Corbett officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home—Lake Park.
