Martha Julia Davis

Martha Julia Talley Davis, 93, of Carrollton, GA died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. She was born in Zebulon, GA on March 26, 1916 to the late Martin Lee and Minnie Lee Fuller Talley. Mrs. Davis was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, a member of WSCS/UMW and historian at Forrest Street United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas W. Davis Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Athens, Donna Davis Whiddon of White House, TN, Jana Davis Douglass and her husband, Jim of Boulder City, NV, Timothy L. Davis and his wife, Theresa of Carrollton, eight grandchildren, B. J. Whiddon (Melissa), Jennifer Douglass, Stephen Davis (Leigh), Dionne Whiddon, James Douglass, Deidra Davis, Elizabeth Thornton (Brad), Caroline Davis, three great grandchildren, William Whiddon, Phillip Thornton and Tucker Thornton, one brother and two sisters in law, Charles (Jack) and Pauline Talley of Chula and Ethel Talley of Tifton. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Davis, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at eleven a. m. at the graveside at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Reverend V. L. Daughtery and Reverend Gilbert Hinson officiating. Burial will follow. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the League of Good Samaritans, Magnolia Manor, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709 or to Wesley Glen Ministry, 4580 North Munford Road, Macon, GA 31210.
