Martha Dene Amerson Plair, 73, of Hahira passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born on May 17, 1940 in Hahira to Isabell Miley Amerson and the late Roscoe J. Amerson and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Plair was a member of the Hahira First Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, reading and writing and was a patron of the library.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, J. C. Plair of Hahira, three daughters and sons in law, Janice and John Thursby, Wanda and Buddy Bumgarner all of Hahira, Linda and Tom LeGrand of Jacksonville, FL, 5-grandchildren, Heather and her husband, Tyler Sermons, Heath Bayman, Jessica Mullis, Shannon Caton, Danielle LeGrand, 3-great grandchildren, Knight Sermons, Creed Sermons, Anthony Mullis, her mother, Isabell Miley Amerson of Hahira, two sisters and a brother in law, Melba Fender of West Virginia, Patricia and Russell Bramlett of Albany, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Amerson.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Monday, April 21, 2014 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hagen officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.
