Martha Burton Paulk

MARTHA BURTON PAULK, 101, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010, at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth.

She was born July 16, 1908, in Lafayette AL, a daughter of the late Robert Patterson and Carrie Lee Moorman Burton. She graduated from Queen's College, Charlotte, NC, and taught Elementary School. Mrs. Paulk was a Charter Member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Valdosta Garden Club.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lee Paulk, Jr. and Shirley R. Paulk of Dacula; three granddaughters, Leslee Lampert of Valdosta, Tammy Whitworth of Dacula, and Heather Lynch of Dacula; five great-grandchildren, Robin and Brighton Lampert of Hahira, Laura Ann and Katie Grace Whitworth, Winter Lynch and Genevieve Lynch, all of Dacula. She was predeceased by her husband Lee Paulk.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Paulk will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the Chapel of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, with Rev. Willie Beasley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Paulk's family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 am Thursday in the Chapel, prior to the services.
