Martha Ann Bartholomew

Martha Ann Bartholomew, 83, of Valdosta, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. She was born on September 17, 1924 in Keokuk, Iowa, and had lived in Valdosta for the last 40 years. She was the daughter of the late William Aaron and Valentine Lorig Bernhardt. Mrs. Bartholomew was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sarah Ann Bartholomew of Valdosta and Beth and Michael Olsen of Brentwood, TN; grandson, Morgan Olsen of Brentwood, TN; sister, Jean Breheny of Lafayette, IN; three nieces, Martha Sullivan, Nancy Dierschow and Jamie Deno; and a nephew, John Breheny. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Bartholomew.

A graveside service at Sunset Hill Cemetery will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 with David Lasseter officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Sarah, at 1622 Boone Dr following the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
