Martha A. Sutton

MARTHA A. SUTTON, 72, of Clyattville, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born May 9, 1937 in Thomaston, a daughter of P.C. and Annabelle Ferguson Ellerbee. Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, Ronald A. Sutton, Sr., she is survived by four daughters and son-in-laws, Linda and Darryl Michek of Valdosta, Liz and J.R. Wood of Valdosta, Teresa and Jackie Carter of Valdosta, and Diane and Tim Aultman of Lake Park; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Theresa Sutton of Valdosta; thirteen grandchildren, Robbie Hall of Valdosta, Bobbie Lynn Stephens of Douglas, Chris Hightower, D.J. Michek, Heather Michek, Candi Youmans, Carrie Caraway, Lee Montague, Jay Carter, Ashley Sutton, all of Valdosta, Nikki Howell, Brooke Aultman and Tyler Aultman, all of Lake Park; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Williamson and husband David of Statenville, and Laquita Salter of Thomaston; three brothers, Terry Ellerbee and wife Tammy of Thomaston, Corky Ellerbee and wife Hallie of Milledgeville, and Chuck Ellerbee of Augusta; numerous nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Betty Rudd; and two brother-in-laws, Kenny and wife Harriett Sutton, and Billy Sutton, all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her parents, P. C. and Annabelle Ferguson Ellerbee of Thomaston and parents in law, Bernice and Mildred Sutton of Valdosta.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sutton will held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta, with Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Dasher Cemetery. The Sutton family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
