Marjorie Fulwood Dickerson, 87, of Valdosta passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 19, 1933 to the late Daniel Alva Fulwood and Belle Brown Fulwood
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church for 50 years. She was active in the Garden Club of Valdosta for many years. Marjorie graduated from Cook High School in 1950 and was an integral part of keeping that class connected as lifelong friends. She enjoyed traveling, creating flower arrangements and being with family.
Survivors include, her daughter and son-in-law, Cary & Steve Wood of Adel, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alva Glenn Dickerson of Valdosta, and Robert S. And Kathy Dickerson of Austell, GA. Two grandchildren, Julie (Rich) Wardwell of Adel and Ross Dickerson of Austell, GA. One step grandson Ben Walters of Austell, three great grandchildren, Davis and Anne Wardwell of Adel and Charles S. Hortman of Johns Creek, GA A sister, Betty Fulwood Bell of Athens, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. (Bob) Dickerson of 64 years. A sister, Jeanette Fulwood Bland and a granddaughter Stephanie Wood Hortman.
A private graveside service was held on Saturday at Cat Creek Cemetery with Elder Jim Sandlin and Mr. Bruce Merriman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Valdosta or to the Stephanie Wood Hortman Memorial Fund at the United Methodist Church in Adel, GA.
