Marjorie Carratt White, 92, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 30, 1921 in Brookfield, Georgia, to the late William Owen Goodman and Susan Rogers Goodman. Mrs. White was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, and worked as a nurse's aid and personal care provider.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Louie Carratt (Vicki) of Valdosta; two granddaughters, Kristi Hatfield (Jordyn) of Brunswick, Georgia, Nikki Carratt of Valdosta, four grandsons, Louie Carratt II (Tracy) of Cataula, Georgia, Sean Carratt (Bridget) of Germantown, Tennessee, Jamie Shontz of Nahunta, Shannon Shontz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 5 great grandchildren, Ryan Carratt of Germantown, Tennessee, Caleb Carratt of Germantown, Tennessee, Bradley Spear of Cataula, Georgia, Carleigh Spear of Cataula, Georgia, and Patrick Shontz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; also surviving is one sister, Dorothy Louise and three stepchildren, Peggy Phillips, Mary Alice May and Joe White. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was predeceased by her husbands, J. B. White Sr. and Christopher A. Carratt and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Alford officiating, interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
