Marion Lehmar Coombs

April 25, 1927 — October 8, 2010

Marion Lehmar Coombs, 83, of Valdosta died Friday, October 8, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 25, 1927 in Hahira to the late Jesse and Mittie Jean Williams Coombs and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Coombs was a member of the West End Presbyterian Church and retired from ITT Metal Products. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and enjoyed the car races, working on race cars and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Olline Ring Coombs of Valdosta, brother and sister in law, Robert Francis and Jackie Coombs of Hahira, two sisters in law and a brother in law, Juanita Arnold of Crestview, Fla., Erma and Henry McDonald of Bartow, Fla., numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Eugene Coombs and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Monday, October 11, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. John Akers and Mr. John Tinsley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
