Marion Charles Pritchard, 76, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on January 9, 1942 to the late Marion C. and Mary Elizabeth Pritchard and has been a lifelong resident of Valdosta. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a long distance truck driver for 48 years and retired from Wiley Sanders Truck Lines. Mr. Pritchard loved to watch the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Charles Stanley and John Hagee Ministries and was of the Baptist Faith. He was very loving and kind. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Michael Merritt of Holt, FL; three granddaughters, Jamie Pritchard, Violet Hayes, and Karla Merritt all of Holt, FL; two grandsons, Danny Hayes of Holt, FL, and Michael and his wife Amanda Merritt of Baker, FL; one great granddaughter, Alayna Merritt of Baker, FL; one great grandson, Edward King of Holt, FL; and a longtime friend/sister Dorothy Willis of Valdosta, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Willie Mae “Billie” Pritchard.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Henry Cannington officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
