Marie Williams Davis Mullis

Marie Williams Davis Mullis, 90, of Valdosta, died after a brief illness, on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the home of her niece and nephew, Joan and Walter Stembridge. Born in Lowndes County she was the daughter of the late P.G., Sr. and Lois Coffee Williams. Mrs. Mullis attended Georgia State Women's College and had worked as a teacher in Hahira. She was associated with Georgia Ace Fertilizer Company and had retired from Lowndes Engineering Company. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school and was active in Circle of Friends and the Walker Harris Friendship Sunday School Class.

Survivors are her grandchildren, Jess Davis, Bart and Angie Davis and Carly Davis all of Valdosta, Jim Mullis and Matt Mullis of Birmingham, Alabama, Zack Mullis and Lauren Mullis of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter in law, Debbie Davis of Valdosta; step sons and their spouses, Jay and Connie Mullis of Birmingham, Alabama, Steve and Patsy Mullis of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother and sister in law, Pete and Clare Williams of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mullis was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse P. Davis, Sr. and Roscoe Mullis, her son, Dr. Jesse P. (Buck) Davis, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
