Marie C. Grice

Marie C. Grice, 94, of Valdosta died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Heritage Healthcare at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on February 14, 1916 in Walterboro, South Carolina to the late J. T. and Elizabeth Fender Carter and had lived in Valdosta for more than thirty years and lived in Carrollton and Macon prior to moving to Valdosta. Mrs. Grice was a member of Airport Church of Christ and retired from Emory University in Macon as a secretary/bookkeeper.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Libby and Steve Harper of Valdosta, grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and John Leonard of Alpharetta, Leigh and Gary Cole of Hahira, Jeff and Susan Harper of Valdosta, great grandchildren, Ashleigh Cole, Jeremy (Dana) Cole, Fayris Harper, Cullen Harper, Hayden Harper and Matt Leonard, Stephanie (Steven) Coody, great great grandchildren, Ava Coody, Ashton Coody, Jack Coody, Mathew Coody and Michael Cole, three sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lamar Grice.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm, Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Carrollton City Cemetery in Carrollton, Georgia with Mr. Bob Gray officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
