Marianne Cousart

December 28, 1946 — June 26, 2016

Marianne Cousart, 69, of Valdosta died on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Pasay City, Philippines on December 28, 1946 to the late Walter Morris Cousart and Margaret Autotte Cousart. She was a retired legal assistant with the Elarbee Thompson, and Trapnell Law Firm in Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Valdosta since 2014. Although petite in stature, Marianne had a giant personality that displayed itself through her outstanding artistic ability, a huge heart that cared for and loved others, her infectious laugh, and her dazzling smile that lit up any room she walked into. Marianne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed and treasured by her family and friends. Marianne was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Teri Wall of Sparta, Tennessee; a son, Bobby Young of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Rachel Wall Ledbetter (Josh) of Cookeville, Tennessee, Sarah Wall of Sparta, Tennessee, and Robbie Young of Oregon; a great-granddaughter, Aniyah Davidson of Sparta, Tennessee; three sisters and a brother, Yvonne Bertram of Hampton, Georgia, Judy Ellis of Valdosta, Alexander (Debbie) Cousart of Nashville, Georgia, and Margaret Cousart of Valdosta; nine nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Bertram, Stefanie Galli, Margo Curran, Michael White, Daniel White, Paul White, Santo Cousart, Selena Phillips, and Rosemarie Faulkner. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Cousart and Vern Cousart.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Brian LaBurt officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4-6 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow the visitation.
