Margie Alene Johnson

Margie Johnson, 81, of Valdosta, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on December 12, 1927 in Cook County, GA to the late M. C. and Abbie Smith Stanford. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Sue Pittman of Valdosta, three grandchildren and their spouses, Robby and Lynn Exum, Tina and Chad Pittman, Rusty and Michelle Brabham all of Valdosta, eight great grandchildren, Maranda Galli, Melanie Galli, Kayla Exum, Jacolyn Exum, Cole Exum, Dean Brabham, Alyssa Brabham and Brent Creasman, five great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, special friend, Christy Frye of Valdosta, two brothers and sisters in law, Temp and Liz Stanford of Quitman, J. L. and Hazel Stanford of Nashville. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, one son-in-law, Donny Pittman; three brothers, Lewis Stanford, Russell Stanford and L. A. Stanford and one sister, Ruth Kirkland.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at four p. m. at the graveside in Lake Park Cemetery with Dr. A. H. "Skip" Van Nus officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from six until nine p. m. Tuesday at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
