Marge Pruden died May 2, 2010 at her home in Valdosta after a long illness. Born in Trenton, NJ on September 23, 1930, Mrs. Pruden was a 30 year resident of Valdosta and active participant in many volunteer organizations in the community. Most notably of these were the Theatre Guild Valdosta and the Garden Center. With the latter, she was past president of the Amaryllis Garden Club and for some years successfully ran the annual Antique Show and Sale for the Garden Center. She donated her many creative skills to the Theatre Guild Valdosta through several seasons as it’s lead customer. Mrs. Pruden had come to Valdosta from Bangkok Thailand along with her husband at the conclusion of his Foreign Service career; therefore she was an extensive world traveler. Prior to being overseas the Prudens lived in the Northern Virginia area. She had a great love of getting together with good friends for any occasion, but most especially to play bridge, pursuing this pastime several times a week even in the latter days of her illness. Her smiling face and loving presence took over any room.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John (Jack) Pruden and a sister, Miss Jane Manning, of Bethesda MD. Her children and spouses are Jon and Mary Pruden of St. Thomas USVI, Ruth and Tom Mason of Buffalo NY, James Pruden of Wichita KS, and Scott and Jennifer Pruden of Meigs GA. Grand children are Michelle (Howard) Einwalter of St Petersburg FL, Matthew Pruden of South Beach Miami FL, Amanda (Patrick)Gadrow of Bridgewater MA , Josh (Amy) Mason of Worster MA, Jesse Mason of Watertown MA, Linda Mason of Columbus OH, Russell Pruden of McLean VA, Pat Murphy Pruden of Fairfax VA and Knox, Sam and Rebecca Pruden of Meigs GA. Great grandchildren are Destin and Faith Lacquement and Cheyenne Einwalter of St Petersburg FL, Liam Gadrow of Bridgewater MA, Sienna, Caleb, Joshua, Jesse and Jarrod Mason of Columbus OH. She was predeceased by her brother Captain Richard Manning, U.S. Navy.
