Margarete K. Johnson

Margarete K. Johnson, 71, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville after a sudden illness. Mrs. Johnson was born in Tevel, Hungary on October 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Johann and Katarina Kurz Schwarz. Mrs. Johnson lived in Germany before coming to Valdosta in 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.

Survivors are her husband, C. David Johnson, Jr. of Valdosta; two daughters, Ilona and Lloyd Coffee of Germantown, Tennessee, Marguerite Joyner of Valdosta; a son, C. David III and Heather Johnson of Tifton, grandchildren, Lance M. McCrary of Newport News, Virginia, Lindsi K. and Ben Elliott of Valdosta, Travis D. Johnson, Rebecca S. Johnson and Hannah R. Johnson all of Tifton, step-mother, Katherine Schwarz of Kornwestheim, Germany, mother-in-law, Carolyn B. Johnson of Valdosta, step-sister, Katherine Nothdurfter of Kornwestheim, Germany, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Church of Christ. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Mr. Bob Gray and Mr. Jason Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery.
