Margaret Hilliard Register

Margaret Hilliard Register, 80, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Clinch County, GA on November 28, 1929 to the late Raymond Alvin and Mary Ella Young Hilliard. Mrs. Register was a homemaker and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where she was the nursery co-ordinator for thirty three years. She was a seamstress and owned rental property. Mrs. Register loved flowers, working and laughing.

She is survived by her husband, Plez Register of Valdosta, three sons and two daughters in law, Robert and Marilyn Register of Hahira, Sammy Register of Valdosta, Darrell and Lydia Register of Hahira, eight grandchildren, Greg Register and his wife, Melissa, Melanie McGinnis, Kimberly Cone and her husband, Eric, Tammy Banaitis and her husband, Derek, Sam Register, Jr. and his fiancé, Kaci Capelle, Wade Register, Brianne Register and Brittney Register, eight great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Wood of Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Register is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mildred Abood and her brother, Alvin Hilliard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Bass, Dr. Clyde Stokes and Pastor Lee Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from six p. m. until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
