Margaret C. Bennett

Margaret C. Bennett, 82, of Adel, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Berrien County Georgia on March 26, 1934 to the late Arnie and Bertha Rodgers Cone and has been a resident of this area all her life. She worked in the carpet manufacturing industry for 27 years and had been employed with Shaw Industries in Valdosta. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Steve Cone of Pensacola, Florida, Wilma and Walter Bramlett of DuPont, Georgia, Diane and Mike Cassotta of Valdosta, and Donna Bennett Pickard of Hahira; grandchildren and their spouses, Clint and Monica Cone of Pensacola, Candi and Chris Kempa of Atlanta, Chris Bramlett of Jacksonville, Florida, Amy and Jason Alston of Atlanta, Kate and J.T. Dean of Dublin, Georgia, Danielle Cassotta of Vinings, Georgia, Gordon Pickard and Nora Lynn Pickard both of Hahira; six great-grandchildren, Owen Kempa, Bennett Kempa and Alexander Kempa all of Atlanta, J.J Alston and Ava Alston of Atlanta, and Claire Dean of Dublin, Georgia; sister-in-law, Shirley Cone of Lakeland, Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Gordon Bennett; her brother, Kenneth Cone and her son-in-law, Mike Pickard.

Services for Margaret C. Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Corinth Baptist Church with Dr. Henry Cannington officiating. The burial will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
