Margaret Bramlett Faircloth, 93, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at her home. Born in DuPont on January 22, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Bernice H. Smith Bramlett. Mrs. Faircloth was the widow of the late W. J. (Dub) Faircloth. She was a Charter Member of the Crossroads Baptist Church where she was a member of the Hiers Hollenbeck Sunday School Class. A former member of Lee Street Baptist Church and longtime member of the Edith Pyle Choir, Mrs. Faircloth sang for many years in The Living Christmas Tree and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star No. 244 and was retired from the W.T. Grant Department Store.
Survivors are her daughters, Frances Taylor and Joanne F. Bass of Valdosta; sisters, Willene Bass of Valdosta and Sue Clark of Orange Park, Florida; grandchildren, Lee (Connie) Taylor of Acworth, James Robert (Debbie) Taylor of Acworth, Mark (Joy) Bass of Valdosta, Ken (Lisa) Bass of Valdosta, Beth (Walt) Green, Jan (Rick) Holmes of Hahira, Michael (Pollyanna) Bass of Pavo, Sharon (Chris) Willis of Rydal, Tony (Heather) Bass of Valdosta; fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Pauline Faircloth of Valdosta and Libby Faircloth of Miami. She was preceded in death by a grand daughter, Mary Margaret Bass, sons in law, A. Lee Taylor and Curtis H. Bass, three brothers Clarence Bramlett, Emmitt Bramlett, Joe Bramlett and a sister Florence Flowers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Dr. Ken Alford and Reverend Charlie Scarbrough will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
